ABOUT BARRY

Barry was Time Magazine’s Person of the Year in 2006, and briefly held the record as the youngest person in the world (although Guinness Book of World Records refuses to recognize it!). He came just 68 hotdogs shy of winning the Nathan’s Annual hotdog eating contest as well.

His father was a jerk (in high school he worked at a soda fountain) and his mother was a stripper (she stripped wood of stain for small reclamation home projects). He went to school with Brad Pitt and Sheryl Crow. Some people call him a skeptic, but he’s not sure he agrees.

In all seriousness, I like my anonymity because it doesn’t allow for too many labels, therefore my messaging and content can only be judged on its merit or lack thereof. I sincerely believe that if the new POTUS would have tweeted my tweets instead of his own (or not at all), his approval rating and standing in the world would be markedly different today. And I continue to persist because it seems to help many cope with what can best be described at times as insanity!

The reality is I won’t allow this kind of discourse to be normalized. I believe this life is not a dress rehearsal, and we have a short time to be kind to one another and live our fullest existence. So along with political commentary, I hope this site will provide you an oasis from the madness — a place to escape on occasion for some fun, thoughtfulness and kindness. Something very lacking right now.

I believe we can turn that tide and return to a more civil society. I hope you’ll indulge me a bit to expand beyond retweeting the bald eagle. Perhaps together, this is the start of a movement toward that better world we all know is possible.

Either way, I appreciate you stopping by. Please send me your thoughts, as well as topics you wish I would cover in the blog!
